In the area of Erwinna, Pennsylvania, emergency medical services (EMS) may struggle to reach response times that are under 10 minutes. This is due to the large coverage area that our local ambulance services have. In response to these extended response times for transport capable ambulances, some local fire departments, including us at Delaware Valley Volunteer Fire Company, have formed services called Quick Response Services, or QRS.

QRS capable companies are equipped with state-standardized medical equipment that compares to the inside of an ambulance. We carry things like oxygen bottles, AED’s, certain types of emergency medicines, and other important assessment tools to help the members of the surrounding communities in the event of a medical emergency.

We are licensed through the Bucks County Emergency Health Services office and provide 24/7/365 emergency medical care based on the number of volunteer responders available to help. This is entirely volunteer based. We have specially trained members who are Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and Paramedics who will respond in a fire truck or medical vehicle to the scene of a medical emergency, make patient contact and begin Basic Life Support (BLS) Care to those in need, prior to the ambulance arriving to transport those in need.

We do not bill for our services in the community, and we are not affiliated with the billing companies of local ambulance services. Our services depend entirely on the donations from the community and grants that we apply for throughout the year.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer member in the EMS capacity, please fill out a membership application found here. If you have questions regarding our capabilities or care, please fill out a contact form found here, and someone will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

If you have a billing question regarding an ambulance service or transport, please contact the company directly. Some of our local ambulance service websites can be found below:
